Peace, Love, and Flower Power

I apologize for not being attentive to my blog lately! Early spring started off well, as I joined the annual Sketchbook Revival sessions for the month of March. I had promised myself that I would get right onto making more of my own art as soon as that was done. Well, shortly after Easter my family and I all contracted Covid. It took a while to get my strength up after that. I then promised myself again that I would get right onto making more art and posting it on my blog. Well.... Gardening season came along and I found myself happily puttering around outside planting new native plants and some herbs to attract butterflies and other pollinators. Things have settled down nicely in the garden, so I've started back in the studio.

The world is certainly not very settled right now, in fact it is very unsettled. I couldn't get my mind into creating something challenging, so I've started making these simple little sets of 4" X 4" collages called Peace, Love, and Flower Power. If you're old enough to remember the '60s, you will remember these symbols and what they represented. I think we all hoped that we could change the world and that we would all be living in peace by now. We can still hope.

Contact me if you are interested in purchasing this sweet set of peace, love, and happiness!

In my next blog post I'll be talking about Art Journaling and Sketchbooks. Starting near the first of June, I decided to challenge myself to do some kind of art journaling or sketching (almost) every day. I'll let you know how it's going and share a few of my favourite pages.

Do you do any kind of journaling? Let me know in the comments!
